The Edgar and Eleanor Shannon Foundation for Excellence in Public Education · Charlottesville/Albemarle exists to help outstanding educators in the City of Charlottesville and County of Albemarle public schools model and inspire a love of learning in their classrooms.

Since 1990, the Shannon Foundation has awarded 483 grants totaling more than $397,000 to local public school teachers.
